With a 50 year working life, lightweight nature, and a bend radius of less than 100mm, SUPERflex™ pipe is an ideal solution for all underfloor applications.
That level of bendiness got us thinking. What else bends quite as well as our SUPERflex™ pipe?
1) Contortionists
Arguably the bendiest folk around, contortionists fold and bend in ways that don’t seem quite right. Some even squeeze their body into small boxes - that doesn’t seem right to us, but each to their own.
2) Yoga dog
That’s right, dogs doing yoga is a thing now (apparently). It’s even called Doga. The US imported craze is meant to help owners bond with their pooches - what happened to a good game of fetch?
3) A slinky
That classic childhood toy that provided hours of entertainment. An estimated 350 million slinkies have been sold worldwide since it was created 71 years ago… Who knew that pushing a spring down the stairs could be so much fun?
4) Flexible rulers
Watching a slinky was definitely more fun than being slapped on the arm with a flexi-ruler by classmates as a child. The first flexible ruler was invented by Frank G. Hunt in 1902. It was created for drawing straight lines on curved surfaces - not slapping your friends.
5) Gymnasts
Having a bendy body can lead you to gunning for gold in the world of gymnastics. The bendy sport dates back to ancient Greece; and the word ‘gymnastics’ is derived from the Greek verb ‘gymnazo’ which means ‘to exercise naked’.
6) Snakes
Love them or hate them, snakes are undoubtedly one of the bendiest creatures in the world. They’re so bendy they can tie themselves in knots. Just one drop of a cobra’s venom can kill 50 humans, so it’s probably a good idea to avoid them.
7) Articulated buses
Generally, transport is quite solid, but these bendy buses added flexibility to the road. However, you won’t spot one in London as articulated buses were withdrawn between 2009-2011 in the capital city, due to blocking junctions and sneaky passengers getting on without paying.
8) Strawberry laces
We’ve all enjoyed one but be sure to brush your teeth afterwards - 6 laces can contain 13g of sugar.
9) Octopus
The octopus is one of the strangest looking creatures in the ocean and is able to squeeze through a gap of any size. The largest species of this sea-based invertebrate is the Giant Pacific Octopus, which has an arm span of up to 14ft.
10) Country lanes
While our pipe will make your life easier, bendy isn’t always a good thing. Make sure you’re driving safely, as 60% of all driving fatalities occur on country roads.
