When installers find a supplier they can rely on to provide excellent service, they’ll come back to them again and again whenever they’re working on a building project. A longstanding customer of Continal Underfloor Heating contacted us recently to quote for the underfloor heating (UFH) system for a four-floor sea-front property located in Cornwall.
At Continal Underfloor Heating, one of the benefits of offering the full range of different underfloor heating (UFH) system types is that we can always offer our customers the system that exactly meets their needs. This was the case when we were approached by a company that was converting a former shop into a three-storey home in central London. Some 95m2 of the property was being fitted with UFH, with the system spread across all three floors. For the ground floor our customer wanted a low-profile system that would give a good heat output, despite a lack of insulation in the existing floor.
When Alex first approached us, he asked for a quote for our TileFix®-18 and UltraSlim™-15 systems for the existing property, and for screed to be laid in the new extensions. He was particularly keen on the TileFix® system because it is the only system designed to accept direct tiling with a standard tile adhesive.
The customer wanted to fit an overfloor UFH system throughout the ground floor of his property, including the kitchen, but this would not be straightforward because he also wanted different floor coverings laid on top in the various different rooms.
At Continal Underfloor Heating, we often receive enquiries from installers and self-builders who want to fit underfloor heating (UFH) as part of retrofit projects in existing buildings. One such enquiry was a request for help with the installation of UFH across the 93m2 ground floor of an old Forge in Penzance.
The owner wanted underfloor heating fitted throughout the entire property, and instructed a good customer of Continal's to install the heating system. To help their client keep costs down due to the sheer scale of the project, they decided to use a screeded system from Continal Underfloor Heating.
The original floor was being removed, so we recommended a screed system, since the installers would be able to dig down far enough to create space for the insulation, pipes and 55mm screed. Our tried-and-trusted screed system is an easy to install and cost-effective way to fit UFH using either 50mm staples, pipe ties or our SpeedTrak® system.
Continal’s OneBoard® structural system was specified as part of the construction of a two-storey newbuild property in Ash Green, Surrey. The ground floor of the property had a screed underfloor heating (UFH) system installed, but the first floor comprised of joists, so the installer needed a system that compatible with joists that would work alongside the screed system.
